Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Machine Assembler to join our second shift team. This role is responsible for the assembly, plumbing, and mechanical integration of complex machinery and custom equipment. As a key contributor to our manufacturing operations, the Senior Machine Builder plays a vital role in ensuring that machines are assembled to exacting standards, meeting both customer specifications and internal quality expectations. This position requires advanced technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to lead or mentor others on the floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in mechanical/electrical assembly strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or a related field—preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of plumbing techniques (e.g., PVC solvent welding, thread taping).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work second shift on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanically minded individuals with hands-on trade experience—mechanics, plumbers, electricians, carpenters or anyone skilled in reading technical diagrams like P&IDs.
  • Experience with car repair, plumbing, carpentry, or industrial systems is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, plumb, and test a wide range of mechanical and electromechanical systems—including both custom and standard machinery—using blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
  • Perform high-precision mechanical, electrical, and fluid system integration.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation to ensure correct component fitment and functionality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues; suggest and implement design or process improvements when appropriate.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to complete assemblies to spec.
  • Ensure all equipment meets or exceeds performance, quality, and safety standards by adhering to established procedures.
  • Redline engineering drawings and update documentation based on real-time assembly changes and findings.
  • Conduct both in-process and final inspections to verify machine function and reliability.
  • Lead or mentor junior builders and collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles and workplace safety regulations.
  • Accurately record work time, materials used, and other data in ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including root cause analysis, lean manufacturing efforts, and process optimization.
  • Assist with facility plumbing or mechanical tasks as needed.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and support second shift operations consistently.
