We’re looking for an experienced Machine Builder Senior/Leader for our Pontiac team to lead the layout, installation, and modification of automated manufacturing tooling systems. This role is a leader who works alongside and is responsible to support the mechanical builders with leadership, training, and daily assignments. Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Senior Toolmaker or Senior Machine Builder, 2+ years of leadership
  • Background in integration of automated assembly systems with specific knowledge of mechanical and electrical build requirements.
  • Expertise in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have own tools required to complete the tasks as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational / Technical Certification preferred
  • Weld systems knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of machine builders in the day-to-day coordination of build and assembly activities
  • Serve as a specialist in the build and assembly of AOBs and kits
  • Execute tasks with a focus on optimizing time, cost efficiency, and functional performance
  • Complete assigned tooling in accordance with work requirements utilizing; engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical manuals as needed
  • Identify mechanical problems, and recommend adjustments/repair work as necessary
  • Gather and distribute prints, timeline and all required documents to the builders
  • Identify and report non-conformances. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on issues that arise
  • Adhere to company policies and ensure compliance with safety requirements. Report or correct unsafe working conditions or unsafe practices
  • Support the mechanical supervisor with production reporting activities and team issues such as conduct or work performance concerns to be corrected.
