A Machine and Wood Shop Support Worker provides assistance with information technology and laboratory tasks within the School of Engineering. Duties may include maintaining laboratory equipment, set up, operate, and tend all types of woodworking machines, such as saws, milling machines, drill presses, sanders, and wood-fastening machines. You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. This job requires excellent communication skills, a proactive problem-solving attitude, and a willingness to tackle unstructured projects. Must be prompt, courteous, and dependable. Must have background in relevant technology being used at the time of application - this is discussed by interview. Must have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.
