About The Position

ITW Global Tire Repair develops and manufactures tire repair products for major automotive brands and retailers worldwide, with its Solon, Ohio facility playing a key role in production. The manufacturing team prioritizes safe, efficient production, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The Machine Operator A will join the Manufacturing team in Solon, Ohio, to operate and lead production equipment for filling and packaging processes. This role is critical for maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality production by ensuring machines are set up, adjusted, and operating according to work orders and quality standards. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting equipment, verifying product quality, supporting production documentation, and training other operators, all while adhering to ITW safety and quality procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive, bottling, or packaging operations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems and manufacturing software tools
  • Certified and able to operate lift equipment (forklift experience preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or training others in a production environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate filling and packaging equipment used for labeling, blistering, packing, and closing containers.
  • Perform machine setups, changeovers, adjustments, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of packaging equipment.
  • Review manufacturing work orders, bills of materials, and special instructions to ensure proper production of finished goods.
  • Monitor and verify product quality, identify packaging defects, and document quality observations when required.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and collaborate with maintenance technicians when needed.
  • Operate production equipment including fillers, packaging robots, palletizing robots, blister equipment, carton erectors, labelers, and related machinery.
  • Complete production documentation including activity reports, pallet logs, and line quality records.
  • Support material handling processes including pallet tagging, shrink wrapping, and RF scanning.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) procedures and participate in safety improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production environment through daily housekeeping and line clearance activities.
  • Train and guide other operators and provide support to production teams when needed.
  • Assist in running manufacturing lines when team leads are unavailable and support other operator roles as needed.
