About The Position

To support Hunt Regional Medical Partners' multi-speciality practice in a clinical and administrative capacity. Employee will be proficient in all areas of responsibility, with minimal supervision and oversight required.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Take vitals
  • Obtain history/physical and reason for visit
  • Reconcile medication(s) with patient
  • Assist Physician/Provider in patient interaction and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain patient treatment rooms
  • Enter demographic and clinical information into HRMP System(s)
  • Communicate lab and procedure results to patients
  • Review and clarify patient consent forms with patient prior to patient signing forms
  • Call/Process prescriptions to pharmacy as applicable
  • Provide and explain instructions for patient procedure preparation, prescription, and other directives needed with regard to patient education
  • Prepare chart information for Physician as needed/requested
  • Safely and properly draw and administer injections
  • Maintain inventory
  • Perform catheter insertion/removal (as required)
  • Manage office telephone systems, including answering calls and returning messages
  • Schedule patient appointments (new and established patients) and maintain communication to confirm future appointments
  • Perform data entry tasks to document patient records within facility databases and maintain patient files
  • Coordinate daily office activities, greet patients and check patients in and out for their appointments
  • Collect surgical fees from patient
  • Obtain authorization and pre-certification of procedures and medications
  • Scan documents into EHR
  • Index scanned documents
  • Perform check-out functions
  • Prepare documents for transmission to external entities via fax, mail, and other
  • Coordinate referrals, both outgoing and incoming
  • Schedule and coordinate surgeries between Physician/Hospital and Patient
  • Schedule and coordinate pre-operative appointments between Hospital and patient; Assure appropriate coordination with other hospital departments when special surgical needs occur
  • Maintain daily surgical schedule to ensure that all patients are scheduled appropriately
  • Assist patients with information necessary to pay all medical charges
  • Set post-surgical appointments with doctors and perform all necessary tests
  • Inform patients and any relevant third party through instructions about "things to do" before and after surgeries
  • Take reservations for surgeries and schedule a date based on the availability of the surgeon and the medical condition of patients
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
  • Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
  • Attend the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
  • Comply with all HIPAA standards.
