About The Position

Gastro Florida is seeking an experienced MA/Front Office Support member to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, able to integrate quickly with minimal training, and is a competent, conscientious, service-oriented individual with a strong character. The position involves working in one of their gastroenterology medical offices in Tampa Bay, under the direction of the division practice manager. Requirements

  • Must be certified medical assistant.
  • High school graduate with 2 year of medical office experience utilizing EMR/practice management systems.
  • Previous specialty office care experience is required
  • Reliable attendance is essential
  • Ability to float to different locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Previous GI experience helpful
  • Preference may be given to candidates meeting minimum requirements who have work experience from employers that emphasize excellent customer service (e.g. Publix, Disney, Chick-fil-A).
  • Immediate availability preferred

Responsibilities

  • Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation
  • Checking patients in/out
  • Collecting and posting copays
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answer phones
  • Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations as directed by physician and within CMA/State of Florida scope
  • Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation
  • Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions
  • Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)
  • Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation
  • Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows
  • Maintains inventory and equipment
  • Maintains a hygienic and organized area
