Your Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and data-fluent M&A and FP&A Analyst to be a foundational member of our growing Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Dillon’s FP&A team is focused on transforming business data into strategic insights that empower our leaders to act. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills and a drive to improve current methodologies to help build a scalable and effective FP&A function. This role will be instrumental in implementing new processes, refining existing models, and transitioning the team's focus from data gathering to high-value analysis. This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week in our London office.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years in a data-heavy analytical role within Finance or FP&A.
  • Demonstrates a solid grasp of core financial concepts.
  • Bring a proactive approach to leveraging AI and automation to solve complex financial problems and modernize workflows.
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and can conceptualize multidimensional data structures. You enjoy both building new pipelines and optimizing existing logic.
  • Experience building and maintaining data models and dashboards in Qlik Sense, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience working with ERPs and financial systems, with an interest in system implementations and automated data integration.
  • Experience challenging existing processes to drive efficiency and utility.
  • Experience working in and contributing to a Continuous Improvement-focused environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Target Evaluation & Valuation: Support the Director of M&A in financial modelling, valuation, and evaluating potential acquisition targets.
  • Due Diligence: Assist in the financial and operational due diligence process, identifying risks, synergies, and integration requirements.
  • Post-Merger Management & Integration: Play a key role in helping newly acquired companies assimilate into the Dillon culture and track post-merger financial performance.
  • Advance & Stabilize our Reporting Suite: Execute key recurring reporting tasks to ensure business continuity, while simultaneously identifying and building automated solutions to replace them.
  • Enhance the "Single Source of Truth": Collaborate with our IT Solutions team to streamline data integration across our systems, enhancing the accuracy and scalability of our financial models.
  • Systems Evaluation: Support the evaluation, configuration, and testing of new FP&A and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) software solutions as the function matures.
  • Automation & Efficiency: Champion a shift in the FP&A teams’s time allocation toward 70% high-value analysis and 30% reporting by automating data integration.
  • Driver-Based Forecasting: Build dynamic forecast models that allow us to stress-test future scenarios.
  • Value-add Analysis: Analyze complex intersections of data to uncover profitability insights that aren't visible in standard reports.
  • Performance Management & Analysis: Support budgeting and target-setting, while conducting variance analysis that moves beyond simple actuals vs. budget comparisons to provide actionable operational context.
  • Empower Leaders: Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for non-finance business leaders.
  • Financial Literacy: Support the Manager in training non-finance stakeholders on how to interpret new reports and leverage FP&A insights for decision-making.
