About The Position

The Division of Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University is seeking up to two clinician scientists or scientists (with a clinical interest) to join the Division. One position will be for a clinical trialist and the other for a wet lab scientist, both at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The clinical trialist position will be in the University Medical Line (UML), and the wet-lab scientist will be in the University Tenure Line (UTL) or University Medical Line (UML). We are particularly interested in candidates with a focused area of interest and expertise in lymphoma and a proven track record (or potential record) in teaching and clinical care (for those with appropriate training). The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The successful applicant should have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD or equivalent. For clinically active physicians, board-eligibility or board-certification in medical oncology or hematology/oncology is required. Clinically active physicians are expected to hold or be able to obtain a CA medical license. The position will be in the UTL or UML, with the expectation that time will be split among research, clinical care, and mentoring/teaching activities. We expect the successful candidate(s) to develop an academic lymphoma research program in either basic discovery science and/or translational clinical research. We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated the ability or shown the potential to obtain peer reviewed research funding to gauge scholarship productivity. Collaborations with colleagues in related clinical and basic science disciplines are important aspects of this position.

Requirements

MD, PhD, or MD/PhD or equivalent.
For clinically active physicians, board-eligibility or board-certification in medical oncology or hematology/oncology is required.
Clinically active physicians are expected to hold or be able to obtain a CA medical license.
Demonstrated ability or potential to obtain peer-reviewed research funding.
Focused area of interest and expertise in lymphoma.
Proven track record (or potential record) in teaching and clinical care (for those with appropriate training).
