About The Position

This is a temporary 30-day position designed to cover a leave. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), the role involves collaborating with Registered Nurses on patient care, including medication management, physical and psychological well-being, and the Plan of Care. Key duties include implementing and monitoring detoxification protocols, administering medications according to physician orders, providing patient education regarding medications and treatments, and communicating patient concerns, outcomes, needs, and status to the nursing team. The LVN is expected to utilize various forms of therapeutic communication when interacting with patients, work as a productive member of the nursing team, and demonstrate knowledge of the Twelve Step Program.

Requirements

Vocational or technical training
One year experience in acute care setting
Must be 18 years of age or older
Current CPR/AED certification
Certification must be from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
CA LVN license and current registration
Minimum 2 years Freedom from Chemical Dependency

Responsibilities

Collaborate with RNs regarding patients medications, physical status, psychological well being and Plan of Care.
Implement and monitor patients detoxification protocols.
Administer medications according to physician orders and safe medication administration practices.
Provide patient education regarding medications and treatments.
Communicate patients concerns, outcomes, needs and status to the nursing team.
Demonstrate ability to use various forms of therapeutic communication when interacting with patients.
Demonstrate the ability to work as a productive member of the nursing team.
Demonstrate knowledge of the Twelve Step Program.
