About The Position

We are seeking a Telemetry LPN, sometimes referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays an important role in our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients in the Telemetry department. Employment Type: Full Time. Shifts Available: Nights. Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00pm to 7:00am. Location: Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX.

Requirements

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• IV certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
• Help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with turning, positioning, and ambulating patients to prevent bedsores and promote recovery
• Observe patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to an RN or physician
• Monitor patients for changes in condition (e.g., pain levels, skin color, or behavior)
• Recognize early warning signs of complications and report them to an RN or physician
• Prepare patients for tests or procedures by ensuring they understand the process and are physically ready
• Teach patients and families about basic post-discharge care, such as wound care, medication schedules, and managing chronic conditions
• Work under the supervision of RNs and report directly to them regarding patient care issues
