About The Position
We are seeking a Telemetry LVN, also known as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). In this role, you will assist patients who require continuous monitoring of their heart activity and vital signs. The Telemetry LPN provides basic nursing care while supporting the specialized needs of telemetry patients. You will work alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members within the hospital's Telemetry unit, focusing on assisting with patient care and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- IV certification upon hire (state specific).
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training within six (6) months of hire and maintain current.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients using telemetry equipment that tracks heart rhythms and other vital signs, assisting in identifying irregularities or signs of distress
- Notify the proper staff about significant changes in a patient’s telemetry readings or condition
- Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including telemetry data and observations
- Help our telemetry patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and eating
- Explain procedures and telemetry monitoring to patients and their families to alleviate concerns
- Work under the supervision of RNs and report directly to them regarding patient care issues
