About The Position

South Plains Rural Health Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Big Spring clinic. The nurse works closely with providers and other clinical staff to coordinate and deliver quality patient care in an outpatient setting. The role supports providers, cares for patients, and helps the clinic operate successfully. All employees are required to comply with the annual influenza vaccination policy. Employees must either provide proof of influenza vaccination or submit a medical/religious exemption form and wear a face mask during flu season.

Requirements

Current, unrestricted Texas LVN or RN license.
Current CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain it as required.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Comply with the annual influenza vaccination policy by providing proof of vaccination or submitting a medical/religious exemption form and wearing a face mask during flu season.

Nice To Haves

Previous outpatient, primary care, or clinical nursing experience.
Electronic health record experience.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and obtain appropriate clinical information.
Perform and document nursing care within the scope of licensure.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments as ordered and permitted by licensure.
Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions.
Review and respond to patient needs and clinical communications.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Coordinate care with providers and other members of the healthcare team.
Follow infection control, medication safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
Perform additional nursing responsibilities within the scope of LVN or RN licensure.
