About The Position

This role is for an LVN Resident in Telemetry at Texas Health Fort Worth. The position is full-time, working days for 26 hours per week. The hospital is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service facility serving Fort Worth and surrounding communities since 1930. It offers advanced care in cardiovascular services, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, neurosciences, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. Certified programs include Advanced Hip and Knee Replacement, Brain Tumor Treatment, Comprehensive Spine Program, and Advanced Palliative Care. The hospital also features a kidney transplant program and supports Graduate Medical Education (GME). Texas Health Fort Worth is Joint Commission-certified as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Level I Trauma Center. It is a designated Magnet hospital and recognized as the Best Place to Have a Baby in Tarrant County.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
  • Acceptance into THR residency program
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the care team, performs hourly rounding, monitors patients, and takes action to reduce risks while reporting significant findings.
  • Uses nursing models to collect data, individualize care, perform technical procedures safely, and administer medications per guidelines.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and adheres to national safety goals in all aspects of care delivery.
  • Sets measurable professional development goals, maintains compliance with policies, and advocates for patients.
  • Communicates effectively, recognizes ethical or legal concerns, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional growth.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and assistive personnel, participates in teaching, adapts to workload changes, and supports unit needs.
