A Day Surgery/Ambulatory LVN provides, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities of the LVN include, but are not limited to: Collects and documents current health condition information, as well as a detailed patient history. They then consult and coordinate with surgical team members and the Departmental Registered Nurse, and associated health care professionals to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. In the event of an emergency, they will manage basic life support needs and help stabilize patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocols.
