About The Position

Assists patients, staff and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population. The LVN will be part of a float pool, assisting in various primary care settings as needed. This role requires flexibility to work variable shifts and potentially travel to different sites to meet staffing needs.

Requirements

  • California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical skill and nursing judgment.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors.
  • Ability to proof work.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area
  • Ambulatory care experience
  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association
  • IV Certification (NPTA Sterile Product Certification) - Various

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients, staff and physicians to maintain operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Provides quality care to a designated patient population.
  • Administers medications safely and accurately per guidelines and written order, ensuring verification and documentation.
  • Prepares patients for examination or procedure.
  • Obtains complete and accurate consent for procedures/surgery.
  • Prepares and labels biopsies accurately.
  • Documents patient care per protocol.
  • Partners with physicians to expand clinical knowledge.
  • Listens to patients, collects pertinent information, recognizes urgency, and routes to physicians.
  • Returns phone calls according to physician instruction.
  • May schedule patient appointments.
  • Provides specific educational material and individual teaching in partnership with physicians.
  • Uses universal precautions and demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies.
  • Provides assistance to PSRs in resolving front desk issues, including scheduling and telephone management.
  • Acts as a positive role model and ensures appropriate service delivery.
  • Participates in clinical projects as directed.
  • Organizes and completes daily requirements and responsibilities.
  • Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problem calls.
  • Monitors patient flow and physician schedules to ensure quality and meet service standards.
  • Follows policy and procedure for entering OCM and utilization of IDX.
  • Completes work within assigned hours.
  • Responds to changing circumstances and prioritizes patient needs.
  • Responds to urgent and emergent situations calmly and capably.
  • Utilizes good judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Ensures readiness of reports and information to maximize patient visits.
  • Maintains appropriate supply levels and is cost-conscious in usage.
  • Participates in and prepares for site inspections and inventories.
  • Completes department inventories per guidelines.
  • Enters authorizations and schedules surgeries and procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists in other departments as assigned to meet staffing needs.
  • Travels to other sites as business needs arise.
  • Successfully completes Nursing Competencies with a score of 90% or greater in each section.
  • Completes Quality Assurance (QA) assignments and ensures overall department compliance.
  • Maintains narcotic control procedures, including key management and inventory.
  • Assists with prescription reconciliation at the end of the month.
  • Supports and completes quality initiatives (P4P, BMI, DataMart, etc.).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and Information Systems applications.
  • Activates emergency procedures per protocol (code, fire, etc.).
  • Documents patient care events thoroughly and accurately.
  • Manages and completes AEHR tasks per prescribed timelines.
  • Supports and demonstrates knowledge of new applications and policies (AEHR, Abbreviations, etc.).
  • Demonstrates typing proficiency (minimum 30 WPM with 0-2 errors) and ability to proof work.
  • Possesses knowledge of insurance, utilization review, and scheduling requirements.
  • Supports front desk responsibilities.
  • Operates and maintains department equipment.

Benefits

  • Hourly Pay Range: $33.400 - $46.760
