About The Position

SUMMARY: The LVN functions under the supervision of the charge nurse or registered nurse delegating any tasks within the scope of practice for an LVN. The LVN is responsible for providing safe, compassionate and focused nursing care to assigned patients with predictable health care needs, utilizing the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups. Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others
  • Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
  • Ability to respond to pages
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  • Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
  • Able to identify appropriate data and interprets its significance to clinical and operational activities
