About The Position

LVN I - OPC: The Adult Mental Health (AMH) outpatient Clinic LVN Position is responsible for managing the daily clinic medication protocols based on delegation by the Center's Medical Director. Duties include ordering, receiving, logging inventory, storing, preparing medications for daily delivery to patients and updating medication inventory system. In addition, the AMH LVN will manage the administration of the Prescription Assistance Program (PAP). This position provides nursing support for the AMH Telemedicine program and primary care program. The AMH LVN works closely with AMH Lead Nurse to promote and ensure maximum medication cost savings for the Center. The AMH LVN will also cover with our IDD program and our Family Youth Guidance and Counseling (FYGC) program as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse program accredited by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Licensed to practice as an LVN in the state of Texas.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
  • Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years and proof of current liability insurance.
  • Must be insurable and remain insurable on Center’s insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with people who have mental illness is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of clinical/nursing practices and procedures.
  • Ability to apply professional nursing skills, techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of resources used on the job, such as medical reference and drug books.
  • Ability to read and interpret physician’s orders.
  • Ability to plan, organize and perform work in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to perform work requiring attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, to exercise good judgment, and to establish good relationships with patients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrated, either through experience or education, ability to work in a rapid pace environment in an organized and professional manner.
  • Ability to self-monitor production and quality with minimal assistance.
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • The ability to work as a team member in a diverse environment interfacing with both internal and external customers/providers.
