Requirements

  • 5 years working in acute care or ambulatory nursing setting required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse Current CA LVN License required

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care as needed within scope of LVN license.
  • Performs scribe functions for providers in clinical office setting as vital
  • Provide appropriate planning and management of employee and patient flu vaccination program
  • Assure staff are able to safely perform clinical duties by assessing their skill level within the scope of the LVN license.
  • Analyzes tracks and reports on data metrics as advised; initiates, conducts and completes a nursing improvement or performance improvement project with approved metrics
  • Develop supervising tools and tracer tools for employees to utilize in the clinical setting to monitor patient safety and adherence to interpersonal policies and procedures
  • Conduct encouraging rounding and mentoring to clinical staff during regular office visits.
  • Develop training materials for employees using HealthStream (online education system).
  • Monitors staff compliance with BCLS, ACLS and other professional licenses and certifications.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of CSMCF infection control standards and supports clinical staff in upholding these standards
  • Trains employees in infection control practices as outlined in CSMCF policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to all clinical and operations employees during regulatory audits.
  • Assists in developing new quality initiatives and projects to improve patient care.
  • Assist in developing clinical skills training materials; develop and write new policies and procedures
  • Presents educational material to employees during in-services; conducts employee in-services and trains staff on clinical policies, procedures and workflows
