About The Position

Park Manor of Humble is seeking a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) passionate about long-term care and looking for a progressive career in healthcare. As a Charge Nurse, you will assess resident needs, develop individual care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care, and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). This role involves hiring, orientation, and monitoring of nursing staff, training them to perform at their best, working closely with doctors, administering medications, and maintaining accurate documentation of treatment.

Requirements

LVN License, in good standing
1 year of experience as a nurse
Effective communication skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality and react decisively in emergencies
Exceptional supervisory skills, taking a proactive role in supervising and developing nursing team
Excellent training skills, ability to provide hands-on training to nursing staff
Good problem-solving and independent thinking skills
Case management skills, comfort with client relations

Nice To Haves

Experience in a long-term care facility preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise the nursing unit and coordinate the effective use of personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units; reassign personnel when necessary to ensure residents' needs and budgetary controls are met.
Manage and analyze patient care following admission/readmission; conduct initial assessment for newly admitted or readmitted patients.
Assist in creating and implementing care plans that address individual residents' needs.
Administer medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management, and some wound care.
Monitor residents and communicate changes to physicians.
Ensure appropriate documentation of resident care and maintain medical records to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic care to residents.
Troubleshoot and investigate complaints, taking necessary action to resolve problems as necessary.
