The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is an individual with specific knowledge and technical skills to assist the Registered Nurse in providing care for a designated group of patients. The LVN utilizes the Nursing Process to provide therapeutic care to a specific population of patients, under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Departmental Specific Summary The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the physicians and superiors in the day-to-day clinical care of patients. This role will also include an arrangement of detailed patient care in the primary care and orthopedics service line. Assists in the implementation and evaluation of the delivery of patient care. Under guidance of clinical supervisor, registered nurse, athletic trainers or physician, provides individualized, direct patient care to promote restoration of health and achievement of patient health goals. Performs nursing functions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practices, and licensure limitations.
