About The Position

This role supports US Navy training by troubleshooting and maintaining the ground truth feed for Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) exercises and events. The technician will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot systems supporting LVC ground truth feeds from Simulation Display Systems (SIMDIS) for exercise control at TTGP. Responsibilities include maintaining data validation and integrity, diagnosing and repairing faults, submitting trouble tickets, and installing/configuring SIMDIS hardware and software. The technician will actively compare ground truth and LVC exercise feeds to assess data quality and completeness, and interface with various points of contact to troubleshoot issues and correct discrepancies. Support for exercise control includes data feed display, configuration, set up, and legend management, as well as maintaining data feed integration into the Common Operational Picture (COP). The role also involves developing standard operating procedures, data products, and recommendations for software/display configuration changes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of computers, electronics, or training as an Operations Specialist.
  • Four years, electronic/computer systems maintenance.
  • Experience in naval operations with emphasis on Carrier Strike Group Operations preferred.
  • System and Network Information Assurance (IA).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and practices.
  • Must obtain or have a current Security + certification (Within six months of hire).

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot systems supporting LVC ground truth feeds from Simulation Display Systems (SIMDIS) for exercise control at TTGP.
  • Maintain data validation and integrity; diagnosing and repairing faults when applicable; submitting trouble tickets, install and configure SIMDIS hardware and software associated with ground truth feeds.
  • Actively compare ground truth and LVC exercise feeds to assess data quality and completeness.
  • Interface with TTGP, Network Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) and SCTTR points of contact to troubleshoot issues and correct discrepancies.
  • Support exercise control with data feed display, configuration, set up, and legend management.
  • Maintain data feed integration into the Common Operational Picture (COP).
  • Develop standard operating procedures, data products, and recommendations for software/display configuration changes.
