About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a LVA Electrical Test Technician. The LVA Electrical Test Technician will set up, operate and maintain a variety of test equipment to perform electrical, electronic and mechanical tests on a variety of control equipment.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics from an accredited institution.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Arden, NC facility will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of the following fundamental electrical concepts: Basic Electricity, Motors and Controls, PLC Programming and Fundamentals of AC/DC
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; including overtime and weekends

  • Previous work experience troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Test equipment, ensure it meets customer specifications as well as safety and quality requirements.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Constantly evolve in product and process knowledge; may require additional classroom work or assigned reading.
  • Build positive relationships that support job objectives and a team environment.
  • Develop rapport and establish relationships with customers; will interface heavily with customers on witness tests.
  • Record data and write reports; process paperwork timely, accurately, and with accountability.
  • Follow procedures with accurately, efficiently and with strict attention to details.
  • Troubleshoot various problems that could occur during course of test; requires Tester to think critically to solve problems.
  • Continuously improve work environment processes; may require Tester to develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inadequate.
  • Troubleshoot and repair warranty and non-warranty problems.
  • Recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise.
