About The Position

National Network Services is seeking a Level 2 Low Voltage Technician. This role is responsible for the overall completion of assigned tasks and projects, adhering to NNSI safety, quality, and productivity standards. The technician will be required to document and communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, and supervisors. A key aspect of this role involves mentoring and coaching level one cable installers to enhance their skill sets and assigning daily work tasks.

Requirements

  • Must have Wyoming Low Voltage License.
  • Must have a valid TX drivers license (as per Level One requirements).
  • Basic tool requirements (as per Level One requirements).
  • Must demonstrate a willingness and ability to follow NNSI field safety rules (as per Level One requirements).
  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs (as per Level One requirements).

Nice To Haves

  • Mentoring and coaching level one cable installers.
  • Assigning daily work tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints for pathway layout, rack and ladder rack structure layout, identification of fire-rated walls, and layout of backboards.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of pathway construction, including "J-Hooks", ladder rack, flex tray, anchor selection, ceiling and beam types, sleeve installation, and firestop installation.
  • Set up copper test equipment and troubleshoot using the equipment.
  • Dress and terminate copper cables into and on 110 blocks and patch panels, BIX blocks, Krone/ADC blocks, and patch panels (minimum 2.5 man hours per 48 port patch panel).
  • Lead small crews on specific tasks/projects (e.g., pathway construction, cable placement, field termination) and achieve safety, production, and quality goals as bid for the project.
  • Train installers in the skills necessary for their advancement.
  • Take field direction from Lead Technicians/Project Managers and build upon provided knowledge.
  • Possess a vehicle capable of transporting materials and ladders (up to 8') between jobsites.
  • Be fully competent in level one roles and responsibilities, including having a valid TX driver's license, basic tool requirements, demonstrating willingness and ability to follow NNSI field safety rules, correctly terminating 12 CAT6 jacks per hour (minimum), and being able to lift 80 lbs.
