Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of successful experience as a Used Car Manager, Pre-Owned Sales Manager, or Automotive Sales Manager within a luxury or highline dealership environment.
  • Required experience with premium automotive brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, Infiniti, Acura, or similar luxury franchises.
  • Proven track record of driving used vehicle sales growth, inventory turn, gross profit, and departmental performance.
  • Strong expertise in vehicle acquisition, trade appraisals, auction purchasing, inventory management, and pricing strategy.
  • Experience utilizing inventory management, appraisal, and market-based pricing tools.
  • Proficiency with Dealer Management Systems (DMS), CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced retail automotive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of pre-owned vehicle operations, including acquisition, appraisal, pricing strategy, inventory turn, merchandising, and reconditioning.
  • Develop and execute sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, and promotional strategies to drive used vehicle sales performance.
  • Monitor market conditions, inventory aging, competitive pricing, and vehicle demand to maintain a profitable and market-driven inventory mix.
  • Conduct accurate trade appraisals and oversee vehicle purchasing opportunities from auctions, service drive acquisitions, customer trade-ins, and direct purchases.
  • Attend dealer auctions and utilize market analytics tools to identify and acquire desirable luxury and highline inventory.
  • Collaborate with dealership leadership and the Finance & Insurance team to maximize profitability and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure inventory is properly reconditioned, photographed, merchandised, and marketed across digital retailing platforms.
  • Manage wholesale inventory disposition and aged inventory strategies.
