About The Position

Under basic supervision, supervises students in the lunchroom, and cleans the food service area. Essential duties and responsibilities include supervising students in the lunchroom and adjacent areas, enforcing MPS policies and behavior standards, and potentially assisting with food preparation and packaging. The role also involves cleaning food service and dining areas, maintaining orderly, safe, and sanitary conditions, and cleaning tables, chairs, floors, and surfaces. The position may also require assisting other MPS staff as requested and supporting the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public through courteous and cooperative behavior. Maintaining confidentiality, following compliance rules governing child abuse, and performing related duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent
Some customer service work experience is preferred
Knowledge of MPS policies and procedures
Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices for maintaining and cleaning food distribution and storage areas
Skill in monitoring lunchroom operations, and enforcing student compliance with MPS policies
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers
Skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains orderly, safe, and sanitary conditions in food service facilities
Cleans tables, chairs, floors, and surfaces
Assists other MPS staff as requested
Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff
Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information
Follows compliance rules governing child abuse
Performs related duties as required or assigned
