About The Position

The Lunch Porter is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of student meal service, including lunchroom preparation, supervision, sanitation, and cleanup. This position ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students during meal periods.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in a school, cafeteria, or child-focused setting.
Bilingual (Spanish or other) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Set up tables, chairs, and trash stations in preparation for lunch periods.
Support food distribution and monitor line flow to ensure efficiency and safety.
Assist with the organization and storage of delivered food items.
Monitor students during lunch to ensure orderly behavior and safety.
Promote positive behavior and provide friendly guidance to students as needed.
Report any incidents or concerns to school administration immediately.
Wipe down and sanitize tables and surfaces between and after lunch periods.
Collect and remove trash, clean up spills, and ensure the cafeteria remains tidy.
Follow all sanitation and safety standards as required by school policy and health regulations.
Provide additional support for school events, assemblies, or meal deliveries as assigned.
Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents.
Maintain confidentiality and follow CASLV policies and procedures.
