About The Position

Transit Valley Country Club is seeking a Lunch Line Cook to join their team. The club is a premier family-oriented, private member-owned facility located in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York, established in August 1921. The club offers excellent social programming, kid's camp, swim/tennis/golf teams, and sport camps. Recently, Transit Valley completed a multi-phase renovation project in April 2021, which included a new kitchen, pizza bump-out with a pizza oven, new lobby restrooms, a complete renovation of the Women’s Locker room, a new indoor/outdoor 25 seat bar, two golf simulators with a lounge, patio, and fire pit, renovated Men’s Locker with the addition of a bar and card room, and upgrading of casual and formal dining rooms.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in grilling, sautéing, and banquet production preferred but not all required
  • Culinary degree preferred, but not required
  • Be creative, be a part of the team, and have fun

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items as written, accommodating modifications as noted
  • Stock and maintain fresh mise en place for service
  • Ensure all foods presented for service are served at the proper temperature and merchandized in a manner that best enhances the quality of product.
  • Develop and follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set
  • Clean food prep areas, equipment, utensils and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, hygiene, and other health and safety guidelines
