About The Position

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As part of a team of spacecraft development engineers, you will develop aerospace multidisciplinary models and simulations to ensure the correctness and performance of our flight software using platforms like desktop computers, software-in-the-loop simulations, hardware-in-the-loop labs, and on-vehicle simulations. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact delivery of payloads to the lunar surface. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Nice To Haves

  • MS or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary, and familiarity with software verification approaches
  • Experience developing software for software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
  • Experience writing software that efficiently handles the production, distribution and storage of large data sets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with verification and validation of aerospace simulations and models
  • Experience developing and maintaining simulation models including plant physics, sensors, and actuators
  • Familiarity with aerospace systems and design
