About The Position

Drexel Building Supply is seeking an Uber positive, enthusiastic, and winning Lumber and Structural Estimator to join their team in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. This role is responsible for providing quote assistance, including finalizing small and large quotes using Spruce software. The estimator will interpret project plans, understand floor plans and products, and accurately estimate material quantities and lists for project bids. Responsibilities include preparing material lists, collaborating in pre-bid meetings, and maintaining high communication at all times. As the role grows, there will be opportunities for cross-training in structural design, including creating floor layouts, tall wall drawings, sizing headers and structural components using engineering software, and troubleshooting structural issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, has strong computer skills, is a team player, and can meet deadlines under pressure.

Nice To Haves

Experience and love for navigating the interwebs and playing video games.
Previous experience in rough carpentry / commercial construction is a plus

Responsibilities

Provide quote assistance, including putting together and finalizing small and large quotes using Spruce software.
Interpret project plans to accurately and efficiently quote projects.
Estimate material quantities and/or material lists for project bids and/or sold projects using project plans and scope of work.
Prepare material lists for quotes and route them to category specialists and the sales team for pricing and presentation.
Collaborate in pre-bid meetings with the sales team, head coaches, structural/systems, and purchasing to determine project viability.
Use software to create Floor Layouts & Tall Wall drawings.
Use engineering software to size out headers and various structural components.
Troubleshoot various structural related issues and develop solutions.
