About The Position

Fabick Cat is seeking a 2nd shift Lube Truck Technician to perform preventative maintenance, general machine upkeep, and light repairs on customer-owned construction equipment. The role involves diagnosing issues using diagnostic tools and potentially operating equipment for assessment. The technician will also be responsible for loading/unloading equipment and adhering to safety regulations. Requirements

  • High school education or GED equivalent required.
  • Two to five years of experience in conducting preventative maintenance services and light mechanical repairs on construction equipment (Caterpillar preferred).
  • Experience in diagnosing equipment using laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems (electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, general machine performance) is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems, along with brakes, clutches, etc.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking while maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Demonstrated good problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, good work habits, above-average math, science, and English skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine schematics.
  • Self-motivation and a desire to perform at one's highest level.
  • Proficiency with computers and aspects of Microsoft Office desired.
  • MSHA certified, or the ability to be MSHA certified.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CDL as required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write, and hear.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, vocational, or trade school education in diesel technology is preferred.
  • Experience with Caterpillar equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in diagnosing equipment utilizing laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, and general machine performance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, general machine upkeep, and light repairs on customer-owned machines.
  • Diagnose faults using diagnostic laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems (electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, general machine performance).
  • Occasionally operate equipment to determine repair needs or assess repairs.
  • Load or unload equipment or components from vehicles.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
