About The Position

The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles, including performing lube, oil, and filter changes, lubricating various vehicle components, and checking and refilling essential fluid levels. The role also involves ensuring the vehicle is clean, reporting necessary repairs, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. This position requires adherence to company standards for customer satisfaction and participation in required training.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
Technical training or commensurate technical experience.
Valid Driver’s License
Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

Performs lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints.
Reports all necessary repairs to service advisor.
Installs completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.
Checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed.
Checks coolant level and refills as necessary.
Ensures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
Checks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
Maintains CSI at or above Company standards
Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
Participates in required training
Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.

Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
