About The Position

Ryder is seeking a full-time, permanent Lube Technician for their Mississauga, ON location. This role involves performing basic vehicle maintenance, component identification and minor repairs, and preventive maintenance with training and support. The technician will also diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, identify root causes of failures, and perform repairs. Additionally, the role includes performing facility maintenance duties, utilizing the Shop Management System, and interacting with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints. The technician must work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety, DOT, and MOT regulations.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • With minimum tools required as outlined in Maintenance policy 2.02 preferred.
  • Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and perform all entry level tasks
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  • Must have valid legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Perform component identification and minor repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance with training and support.
  • Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
  • Identifies root cause of "minor" failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
  • Performs facility maintenance duties.
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
  • Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).
