The Lube Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles in compliance with safety, ministry, and company standards. This includes diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, performing road tests and service calls, and ensuring accurate maintenance records to support safe and reliable fleet operations across the Ottawa region.

  • Must possess a basic set of hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Lube Technician or in a similar role is considered an asset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is key, as well as working in a team environment.
  • You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work overtime, weekends and on holidays.
  • Should be striving to obtain a Technician’s Licence.
  • A valid DZ Driver’s Licence for this position is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with the occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Service of all Company vehicles, such as chassis lubrication, oil changes and cleaning of trucks and any other MWS equipment, as needed.
  • Conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all required records and files for vehicle maintenance.
  • Will also be required to clean the shop, paint rims, and generally maintain the appearance of the equipment.
  • Assist technicians with basic repairs and other maintenance of trucks and equipment.
  • Will be lubricating and conducting fluid services, on all Miller Waste equipment, as needed.
  • Draining old oil, replacing filters and refilling with correct amount of new oil.
  • Inspecting and topping off various fluids like transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid.
  • Applying lubricants to various vehicle components, such as chassis parts and wheel bearings, to reduce friction and wear.
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned.
