About The Position

Fred Martin Nissan is hiring a Lube Technician to help maintain its award-winning service and value. The role involves testing vehicle systems and components, diagnosing potential problems, performing routine maintenance, and repairing or replacing worn parts. The technician also operates diagnostic equipment and hand and power tools while communicating vehicle service information to teammates.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year in a service department.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities.
• Effective analytical and communication skills, and eagerness to improve.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

Nice To Haves

• ASE Certification or a technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Test vehicle systems and components to verify they are secure and working properly.
• Isolate systems or components that may have caused a problem.
• Drive vehicles for testing and inspect and refill fluid levels as needed.
• Check tire pressure and clean and lubricate fittings as needed.
• Install new oil drain plugs and oil filters, and communicate oil levels to teammates.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles efficiently and accurately.
• Repair or replace worn parts before they lead to vehicle breakdown or damage.
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform tasks.
