About The Position

This position involves lubrication and preventative maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, trenchers, rollers, scrapers, forklifts, haul trucks, water trucks, and dump trucks to ensure safe operation. The role requires maintaining positive working relationships, producing high-quality work safely and productively, and providing feedback to ensure necessary resources are available. The technician will also look for opportunities for improvement, share knowledge, and teach others. A high proficiency in preventative maintenance for related equipment is expected, along with inspecting subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance, explaining deficiencies, and taking corrective action. The role also focuses on eliminating waste in areas such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry
In-depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment
Knowledge of oils and lubricants
Ability to make mechanical repairs as necessary
Ability to operate equipment to check for proper operation after service has been made
Must be able to read and understand safety and quality standards
Effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work
Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
Must be willing to travel
Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat Endorsement and medical card
Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)

Inspect subordinates work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies and take any necessary corrective action
Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time
Maintain lubrication and oil sample records
