Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
PC literate and proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and in a team environment.
Ability to adhere to related Company Core Principles.
Written communication is concise, clear, legible, complete/accurate, and timely.
Must have the ability to plan daily and weekly tasks and organizational ability to effectively prioritize time between different plant functions.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to candidates with experience around production machinery in heavy industrial and/or manufacturing facilities.
Additional consideration will be given to individuals with a background or education in the lubrication field.

Responsibilities

Performs routine lubrication of all equipment in assigned areas.
Ensures that s/he has the appropriate lubricants and equipment to perform tasks in a manner minimizing unnecessary trips to and from the warehouse/shop to the production areas.
Conducts routine sampling of lubrication reservoirs to for lubricant quality and signs of equipment problems
Fills oil cans and cups and automatic dispensers with proper lubricants.
Inspects automatic lubrication equipment for satisfactory operation, replacing/filing empty drums or malfunctioning lines from the central lubrication reservoir.
Changes oil in reservoirs with proper lubricant and cleans/replaces oil filters as required.
Wipes excess oil or grease from equipment and floor.
Replaces oil and grease fittings as required.
Removes guards or other protective devices only after the machine is locked out; performs lubrication and oiling and replaces guard.
Advised proper personnel when the procedure is complete for removal of lockout.
Maintains a legible and up-to-date lubrication log/record.
Ensures that remark detail any anomalies in inspection and lubrication routine.
Follows all safety procedures while performing work.
Performs miscellaneous tasks such as sweeping, painting equipment etc...
Visually inspects belts for proper alignment and signs of fraying or general wear.
Listens for unusual noises emanating from equipment.
Monitors temperatures of bearings for unusual heat.
Reports problems to the control room and logs all entries accordingly.
Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor or control board operator
Follows established safety and housekeeping rules and reports, and/or, corrects unsafe conditions.
Completes lubrication rounds with little supervision or direction.
Notes changes to the lubrication routes and provides information to allow for accurate updates to equipment.
Embraces new technology to include the DMSI handheld data collectors, computer software, and state of the art sampling methods
Works with the mechanical group to increase skill levels in maintenance.
Maintains the lubrication vehicle and lubrication storage area in pristine condition.
