About The Position

Budget Truck is immediately hiring a Lube and Tire Technician. This role is for individuals who enjoy hands-on automotive work and want to build their skills working on box trucks and cargo vans. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and interested in growing their career while supporting vehicles customers depend on. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience working on a fleet of newer vehicles across multiple brands while building a strong foundation in automotive and truck maintenance. The technician will perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on our fleet of box trucks and cargo vans, including oil and fluid services, tire repairs and rotations, and completing all tasks in a safe and quality-focused manner. Depending on experience, technicians may assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics. Driving a Budget Truck on public roads for testing or operational needs may also be required. By helping keep vehicles well maintained and reliable, the work directly supports customer safety, vehicle availability, and a smooth rental experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C)
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior auto maintenance experience
  • Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
  • Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on box trucks and cargo vans.
  • Conduct oil and fluid services.
  • Perform tire repairs and rotations.
  • Complete all tasks in a safe and quality-focused manner.
  • Assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics (depending on experience).
  • Drive a Budget Truck on public roads for testing or operational needs (may be required).
