About The Position
First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking compassionate and reliable Per-Diem Licensed Practical Nurses for the Hampton Roads area to join our team. Local Applicants Only.
Requirements
- 1 Year Minimum Experience in a facility-based position
- BLS/CPR
- PPD within one year
- Active LPN License
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds or more without Restrictions
- Must be able to stand and walk for long hours without Restrictions
- Must be able to lift and bend without Restrictions
Responsibilities
- Collect data from patients.
- Administer medications to patients.
- Reinforce patient education.
- Provide wound care.
- Provide supervision to unlicensed personnel, such as nursing aides.
- Collect various kinds of specimen samples from patients, including urine and stool.
- Ensure that medical equipment is functioning properly.
- Call doctors and advanced providers for orders.
- Coordinate care for their patients.
- Insert peripheral intravenous lines.
- Perform intake and output monitoring.
- Clean and change tracheostomy ties.
- Respond to patient emergencies.
- Maintain logs of narcotics.
- May aid patients with activities of daily living.
- Supervise patients in common meal areas.
