Requirements

  • Are a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an LPN with a current license in Florida.
  • Have basic computer proficiency.
  • Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Have at least 6 months of experience in geriatric nursing (a plus).
  • Have supervisory experience (a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.
  • Administer direct care as necessary.
  • Give and receive shift reports.
  • Round twice a shift to ensure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.
  • Keep physicians and families aware of changes in residents’ conditions.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive care plans.
  • Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all care rendered.
  • Respond to the resident emergency call system.
  • Interface with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care and services.
  • Accompany physicians when making rounds.
  • Encourage restorative care to obtain maximum resident independence.
