About The Position

The individual in this role will provide high quality direct care services in the medical clinic. This includes collecting and assessing vital signs, performing drug screens, conducting nursing assessments, administering medication injections, and observing clients. The role also involves comprehensive and timely documentation of all services and interventions, providing medication education, health maintenance education (e.g., HTN/DM/CHF/Asthma), disease education, and coping/management skills education. Responsibilities extend to performing skills for client de-escalation, medication reconciliation, obtaining medical records and consents, maintaining client privacy, troubleshooting physician/provider issues, maintaining telemedicine clinic flow, dispensing medications from the MFBHC Pharmacy to clients at satellite clinics, dispensing prescriptions for controlled medications, and troubleshooting client/pharmacy issues. The LPN will also check service authorizations, link clients to community resources and case management, collaborate with medical and clinical staff, and collaborate with external providers/pharmacies/family. Additional duties include completing prior authorizations for medications, overseeing clinic schedules and workflow to reduce client wait times and improve efficiency, transporting medications to satellite clinics, and making follow-up calls to clients regarding medication refills and diagnostic appointments. This position will serve as a floater between any of the four medical clinics in the event of staff shortages.

Requirements

  • Current Georgia license to practice as a licensed practical nurse
  • Six months of nursing experience
  • Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver’s License
  • Must be computer literate
  • Any male applicant between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of having registered with the Selective Service as required by federal and state law, or of being exempt from such registration.
