Performs and/or delegates patient treatments as ordered by Provider and participates in education plan for patient/family.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
Current Massachusetts licensure required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Assesses and obtain a patients basic health status, records, and related data according to standard procedure and needs of patient and their families.
Administers medications, performs treatment as ordered , and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
Performs venipuncture using aseptic technique, 12 lead EKGs, and administers vaccinations.
Participates in implementation and evaluation of care plan including long and short-term goals, nursing actions , and teaching.
Documents patient care according to standard procedure. Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to Provider and/or R N and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.
Performing voiding trials according to established clinical protocols and accurately document patient outcomes.
Initiate and monitor Intravenous (IV) Hydration therapy as ordered by the provider, including patient assessment, IV insertion, monitoring during treatments, and documentation.
