About The Position

The LPN provides direct patient care and assists with clinical functions for all providers in an ENT surgery office, under the direction of the attending physician, RN, Lead LPN, or practice coordinator. The role is full-time and works the day shift in Albany, New York. It may require floating to other clinic sites to provide coverage. The LPN is expected to follow Albany Med Health System regulatory compliance requirements and protect sensitive information, including HIPAA-protected health information, by limiting access and use to what is necessary to perform assigned duties and safeguarding information from unauthorized access or modification.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members, or other employees in the work setting.

Responsibilities

Obtain and accurately record patients’ vital signs.
Document components of patients’ histories.
Communicate openly and appropriately with patients, visitors, and staff.
Participate in in-office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
Perform diagnostic CLIA-waived testing.
Perform venipuncture to obtain blood for laboratory testing.
Perform prescription call-backs within the scope of practice.
Prepare patients’ charts with pertinent clinical information.
Maintain supply inventory and keep patient examination rooms stocked.
Adhere to Albany Med Center’s regulatory compliance requirements.
Float to other clinic sites to provide appropriate coverage.
Protect sensitive information by limiting access and use to the minimum necessary and safeguarding it from unauthorized access and modification.
