Requirements

Current active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language.
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift/push/pull 50lbs.
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Nice To Haves

Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
Record time spent performing individual treatments in accordance with ancillary services policy on the medication/treatment record.
Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification of any adverse reactions.
Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/disposing.
Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel.
Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures.
