About The Position

UPMC's Venango Internal Medicine is seeking an LPN to work closely with physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to deliver high-quality patient care. The position includes answering telephone calls and patient messages, communicating with team members, faxing documents, completing clinical tasks, rooming patients, preparing them for visits, and supporting daily office operations to provide an exceptional patient experience. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No holidays, evenings, or weekends are required. Eligible candidates may qualify for a sign-on bonus of $7,500 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates, in exchange for a two-year commitment to UPMC.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure.
Current licensure in the state where the facility is located, or a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state if the facility is in a state covered by the Nursing Licensure Compact.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
CPR must meet AHA standards, including didactic and skills demonstration components, within 30 days of hire.
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, with renewal.
Act 33, with renewal.
Act 34, with renewal.
Act 73 FBI Clearance, with renewal.

Nice To Haves

One year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies, including OSHA, CLIA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Administer medications, including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and IV drip medications.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Assess patients' general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Document activities and interventions, patient and family responses, and medications dispensed or prescribed in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice and instructions.
Answer telephone calls promptly and respond to patient messages.
Communicate effectively with team members and fax documents.
Room patients and prepare them for visits.
Support daily office operations and an exceptional patient experience.
