Requirements
- Current state license as an LPN and CPR certification
- Graduate of an approved LPN program (per state requirements)
- Ability to commute/relocate to Clinton, CT 06413: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- LPN (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred.
- Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.
- LVN (Preferred)
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Responsible for medication administration for the residents in compliance with Federal & State regulations
- Assist with admissions of new residents, including assessments and documentation.
- Assist with the process of implementing acute and long-term care plans or service plans an/or the collection of data
- Responsible for clinical system tracking (i.e., wounds or infection control) under the director's direction.
- Provide general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
- Notify physicians and/or family members of any change in the resident’s health and provide proper documentation.
- Respond quickly to all emergencies.
- Maintain close communication with all departments and staff members.
- Provide educational meetings for residents and staff.
- Understand the role of the Safety & Disaster Plan.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
- Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
- Maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
