About The Position

This Women's Residential Program, opening in November 2026 in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking experienced LPNs with psychiatric experience to join their team. The role focuses on supporting clients with substance use disorders and mental health stabilization, offering a rewarding alternative to bedside nursing. The position emphasizes critical thinking, adherence to policy, and teamwork, with minimal direct bedside care. It's an opportunity to serve as a positive role model, providing encouragement and helping individuals build skills for long-term recovery. Gaudenzia's mission is to promote long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions, regardless of individual circumstances.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
Must have good standing license (LPN or RN) valid in the state in which clinical will practice.
Must also possess current CPR Certification.
New Grads and Newly Licensed LPNs and RNs are welcomed and encouraged to apply as direct job experience is not a requirement for this position.
Fast learners, confident, and can successfully meet the required expectations for this position.

Nice To Haves

LPN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience.
LPN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
LPN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.

Responsibilities

Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation.
Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests.
Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation.
Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy.
Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment.
Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
Assist in the facilitation of special events, including, but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events.
Implement health seminars, including, but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
Maintain LPN license with good standing.
Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee.
