About The Position

We are currently searching for a 5 day a week LPN who will work as an endoscopy LPN, as well as in pre-op and post-op Monday – Friday. Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. The role involves participating in center safety and infection control programs, assisting physicians with endoscopy procedures, handling and processing patient specimens, and assisting in the maintenance of supplies. The LPN will monitor patient condition and vital signs, maintain accurate documentation, and report any observed abnormalities to the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities also include starting IVs, utilizing the nursing process to develop, plan, deliver, and execute patient's plan of care during the postoperative period, assisting patients with dressing if necessary, and performing safe and individualized nursing care in the immediate post-operative/post-anesthesia period. The LPN will assess and document the patient's physical and emotional status upon arrival in the recovery room, develop a plan of care based on patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia, and monitor and report any abnormal observed complications to the RN, Anesthesia provider, and physician, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical nursing
  • Current State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Current BLS
  • IV certification
