About The Position

Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy, New York, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide care to residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of memory loss. The team is willing to help train new nurses and candidates exploring a different area of nursing. The position offers an orientation program, tuition allowance, career development, and shifts intended to accommodate different schedules. The LPN administers nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, assists with treatments and procedures, performs selected duties within the established nursing plan of care, and assists in leading a team of certified nursing assistants. The center’s goal is to support residents’ quality of life through moments of pleasure, purpose, and peace. The stated pay range is $24.00–$30.10 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education, and may vary by location.

Requirements

Valid New York State LPN license.
At least one year of experience as an LPN; the employer is willing to train the right candidate to further their skills.
At least one year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility.
Experience providing dementia care to patients.
Ability to maintain a high level of customer service while completing day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to engage within a team setting.
Passion for learning, growing, and developing in the nursing field.

Responsibilities
