About The Position
As a Nurse (LPN) in Hemodialysis, your specialized skill set and ability to collaborate with the Registered Nurse is vital to exceptional patient care. The LPN working in Hemodialysis responsibilities include application/mastery of skills in area of specialization, guidance and general oversight to less experienced employees; may train new employees. The duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex issues, patient cases or technical skills.
Requirements
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - NYS Office of Professions
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Willingness and ability to work early morning shifts
- Friendly, compassionate and patient focused
Responsibilities
- Conducts and documents a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment.
- Assists in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the RN.
- Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments using multiple access sites; administer IVP medications to dialysis patients
- Complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner
