The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and clinical support in the surgical office. The LPN works closely with the entire care team and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients within the Surgical Offices. The LPN assists with patient assessment, pre- and post-operative care, procedures, patient education, and coordination of surgical services while maintaining accurate and timely documentation. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following essential job functions: Perform patient assessments and document patient information Provide patient education regarding care Prepare patients for surgical consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Follow infection-control, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas. Perform wound care, dressing changes, suture or staple removal, and other treatments as ordered.
